FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam
Discs, three 15/16″ x 3 7/8″ diameter

Other Materials:
Snowflakes stencil, three styles, 3 – 3 1/2″ diameter
Clear gemstones, round: Eighteen 5 mm diameter and three 15 mm diameter
Silver wired ribbon, 1/8″ wide x 3 yards 30″
DecoArt® Americana® Acrylic Paint: Indian Turquoise and Snow (Titanium) White
Large paper clips, three

Medium paintbrush
medium stencil brush
container of water
paper plate
paper towels
glue gun & glue sticks

  1. To smooth and round edges, press foam edge down onto table with even pressure. Roll disc all around to smooth. Repeat with other edge. Repeat with other two discs.
  2. Squeeze Indian Turquoise paint onto paper plate. Use paintbrush to add a bit of water to thin and stir. Paint all sides of discs and let dry over night.
  3. Squeeze Snow (Titanium) White onto plate but do not thin with water. Hold stencil and disc in place with one hand and use stencil brush to gently pounce paint into open areas of stencil. Hold brush straight up and down so that paint stays within open area and doesn’t seep underneath stencil. Also, notice that the texture of foam will still leave some holes but white paint will show. When all open areas have been painted, lift stencil straight up to remove. Let paint dry. Repeat with other discs.
  4. If some areas need a little touch-up or a whiter look, use point of regular paintbrush to fill in with up and down pouncing (not strokes). Let dry.
  5. There are two ways to attach gemstones: 1) Glue smaller gemstones in between each of the snowflake points and a larger one in middle. 2) Or, recess gems by very gently pressing a pencil into foam to make a shallow starter hole and then push gem down into it. Either way you’ll add sparkle to the disc.
  6. For hanging loop, bend paper clip to break it in half. Discard smaller piece and use larger one. Determine where top of disc should be and insert paper clip ends down into edge, leaving about 1/2″ showing for hanger loop. Repeat with other two discs.
  7. Cut one yard length and 10″ length ribbon. Tie 10″ length onto paper clip hanger loop of one disc leaving two 5″ length ends. Wrap ends around pencil to curl, and remove pencil. Then tie end of one yard length onto hanger loop, leaving a 5″ end. Wrap 5″ end around pencil to curl. Then wrap entire length of long end to curl. Repeat with other discs and hang them in a window.
