Instructions

  1. Cut the foam balls to create the pumpkin and gourd shapes using the foam cutter.  Cut about 3/4” off the top and bottom of each of the balls.  Glue the 3” ball to the top of the 5” ball to create the gourd shape.
  2. Cut several 2” circles of orange felt for each of the pumpkins and the gourd.  It takes about 65 felt circles to cover the smallest 3” ball pumpkin.  Using the tucking tool, lay the felt circle on the foam ball and press into the center of the circle tucking it into the ball to secure it in place. Continue to completely cover the foam ball’s top and sides.  The bottoms should be left bare to help define the pumpkin shapes and allow them to sit upright.
  3. To create the stems, roll up lengths of burlap into tubes and glue ends to secure tubes in place.  For a thicker stem, roll up a longer length of burlap and for a thinner stem use less burlap.  Glue a toothpick into the top of each pumpkin and glue the stem in place on the toothpick.
  4. Cut out leaves for the pumpkins from the green felt and glue in place by the stems.
