Wired Burlap Ribbon, 2 1/2″ wide x 6 yd., cream
Fruit: two Lemons, two Limes
Burlap Garland, 5″ wide x 1 yd. length, natural
Jute Twine, 12″ length

12″ tall tree or plant such as Norway Pine
Two 3″ pine cones
Three – five nuts and pods
Ruler
Pencil
Glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

  1. Use ruler, pencil and Foam Cutter to mark and trim Foam Block’s 11 7/8″ width down to 10″ (leaving other measurements the same.)
  2. Cut four 24″ lengths and seven 16″ lengths of Wired Burlap Ribbon.
  3. Place Foam Block horizontally in front of you. Arrange seven short lengths Foam Block, running vertically. (The edges of each length should just butt up against the next one, with enough length on both ends to wrap around top and bottom edges of block with 1″ folded underneath.) Along top long edge, secure end of each short length with hot glue, applied to 1″ area on bottom of block. (Wait to glue opposite ends of lengths, to allow for easier weaving.)
  4. With Foam Block still horizontal, on top of short lengths, arrange four long lengths running horizontally (As you did with shorter lengths, the edges of each length should butt up against the next one with enough length on both ends to wrap around side edges of block with 1″ folded underneath.)Along left short edge of Foam Block, secure end of each long length with hot glue, applied to 1″ area on bottom of block. (Wait to glue opposite ends of lengths, to allow for easier weaving.)
  5. To weave, starting on left, pull first short length out from under long lengths and weave it over, under, over under long lengths. Finish by going around bottom edge to back of Foam Block, securing with hot glue. (Make sure length is pulled snuggly.) With second short length from left, weave opposite pattern by going under, over, under, over, wrapping to back, pulling snuggly and gluing on bottom back. Continue alternating weaving pattern going all across Foam Block. At right side, pull snuggly and glue under long ends.
  6. To cover pot of plant, use Floral Shears to cut two 18″ lengths Burlap Garland. Overlap in an X formation on the table and hot glue dot in center of X to hold. Set pot in center.  Pull up Burlap ends to wrap and gently gather at base of plant. Use 12″ length Jute Twine to wrap, loosely tie and knot. Trim Burlap ends as much as desired and fray by pulling a couple of strands.
  7. Set pot in center of Woven Foam Block and decorate around it with Lemons, Limes, pine cones, nuts and pods.
