Instructions

  1. In a well-ventilated, newspaper-covered area, inside cardboard box, spray beveled ring with Antique Gold. (Note: This color best matches the darker burlap.) Let dry.

  2. Measure and use Floral Shears to cut eighteen 18″ lengths of dark natural burlap ribbon and six 18″ lengths of cream burlap ribbon. (Note: Allow ends to fray, since that adds to the charm.)

  3. Position beveled ring on table with beveled edge up. Burlap ribbon lengths will be wrapped around beveled ring as follows. Tie one cream length around ring with tie along outside, beveled edge. (Note: It’s easier to find middle of length and fold it, bending wire to mark so that you can align middle with inside of ring. Gently, so that you don’t scrape sprayed foam, snuggly tie along outside. Due to wire, it is not necessary to knot.)  Pull loose threads on ends to fray and scrunch to make ends irregular.

  4. For even spacing, imagine that the ring is the face of a clock. Position first tied cream length at 12:00. Tie five other cream lengths, evenly spaced at 2:00, 4:00, 6:00, 8:00 and 10:00. Then tie three dark natural lengths between each cream length for a total of 18 dark lengths of burlap ribbon. Fray and scrunch all ends.

  5. Set bowl into ring. Fill with dried naturals and silk leaves. Then set pears in as the finishing touch.

Alternative: Display ring upright as a wreath, without glass bowl.
