Decorative Mesh, 21″ wide, 4 yds., Hot Pink
Butterfly Picks, 4.5″ x 2.25″, five of each:  Blue and Hot Pink
Wire Cutter
Floral Shears
Floral Wire

2 yd. length of 1 1/2″ wide ribbon, blue with white polka dots (to match butterflies)
Elmer’s® CraftBond® dot runner, permanent
Glue gun and glue sticks

  1. Use Wire Cutter to cut 8″ length Floral Wire.
  2. Use Floral Shears to cut four 1 yd. lengths Decorative Mesh.
  3. With one Mesh length, fold both ends into middle, gather and tightly bind so that cut ends and Mesh middle are bound by Wire. Trim Wire ends to 1/4″ length. (Note: This looks like two large bow loops.) Repeat with other three Mesh lengths.
  4. Cut 12″ length Floral Wire. Lay two bound lengths onto table with centers crossed, like a “t”. Then lay other two bound lengths with centers crossed over the top, like an “x”.  (Note: There should be eight loops, radiating out from the center.) Use Wire to tightly bind all lengths in center. Adjust and fluff loops to create rounded Mesh puff.
  5. For hanging ribbon, use Floral Shears to cut two 1 yd. lengths ribbon. To glue together ribbon lengths (with right sides out), use dot runner on one length, align edges and press other length onto it. Hold Mesh puff up to determine where you want the top to be. Then push one end of ribbon down into top of Mesh puff, gluing ribbon into binding area. (Let thoroughly dry before hanging.)
  6. Remove Butterflies from their wires and randomly hot glue them onto Mesh puff. (Note: Glue while Mesh puff is hanging, to most evenly distribute Butterflies all over puff.)
