Instructions

  1. Refer to photo. For nose, use Foam Cutter to trim 1″ off bottom of cone at an angle. Set against disc and trim more if needed. In a well-ventilated, newspaper-covered area, Inside cardboard box) spray disc and nose cone Olive Bright. Let dry.
  2. For hat, cut 15″ x 24″ black felt. Fold in half to 12″ x 15″. Use hot glue to glue together the two 15″ sides. Let cool. Turn right side out. Place tube on table with seam running up center. Hand press to flatten. To make pointed top, grasp top right corner and fold diagonally, aligning top of tube with left side of tube. Carefully, vertically glue where those felt surfaces meet. Let cool.
  3. Flip over felt. Slip open end of felt onto disc head until it’s in place and tight. (Scrunch and glue if needed, using straight pins if desired.  Curl point down as shown but don’t glue point.
  4. For hat brim, cut 5″ x 18″ piece felt. Round corners. Cut 11″ slit down center. Slip brim over hat, tucking slit area under so that it doesn’t show on top. Cut two 12″ lengths orange and one 12″ length purple gathered ribbon and glue just above brim with ends tucked around to back.
  5. For hair, cut 18″ length mesh. Cut three evenly-spaced 6″ long slits (that stop 2″ from top). Then make pieces narrower, by cutting 16″ long slit in each of those four pieces. Roll uncut area at top and glue to top side of witch’s head, under brim. Repeat with second 18″ length and glue beside first one.
  6. Repeat with two more 18″ lengths for other side of head. Gently scrunch mesh to entangle like messy hair!
  7. From purple felt, cut two approx. 2″ x 2 1/2″ ovals. Glue wiggle eye onto bottom of each oval. Refer to photo to place eyes half way down on disc, keeping features low for a cute look. Position nose and set 10″ – 12″ length orange ribbon in place for mouth. When satisfied with look, hot glue all in place. (Note: For greater sturdiness with nose, use toothpicks between nose and face surface, and hot glue.)
  8. Decide angle you want for witch’s head. For hanger, on back measure 3″ down from top. Make 1/2″ horizontal snip in felt using scissors. Slightly separate curved end of paper clip 1/4″. Insert shorter rounded end up through felt, up into foam, creating hanger loop with longer end of paper clip. Hot glue.
