Chenille Stems
Pompoms: Asst. Sizes
Wiggle Eyes: ¼”
Felt Scrap: red

Tools:
Make It: Fun® Foam Cutter or Serrated Knife
Low-Temp Glue Gun
Flat Paint Brush

Instructions

  1. Use the cutter or serrated knife to cut a small wedge for the mouth out of one side of a 2” ball.  Roll the ball firmly on the table to create a flattened area on either side of the mouth.  This will give the head a more oblong shape.
  2. Paint all the balls green and let dry.
  3. Thread the body portion of the balls onto a chenille stem in the following order.  Four 1” balls, Put a small amount of glue at the very end of the chenille stem to secure the end ball in place.  Press the balls together firmly on the stem, flattening them together where they meet.  This will give a more solid look to the body.  Now thread three of the 1.5” balls and then three 2” balls pressing them firmly together on the stem.   Bend the stem and press the foam balls together to create a curl in the tail.
  4. Cut about a 3” piece of chenille stem.  Glue the head onto one end.  Thread the last 1.5” ball pressed firmly against the head.  Insert the opposite end of the stem into the top portion of the body as shown.
  5. Glue pompoms down the back for colored spots.  Glue two small pompoms to the top of the head for eyes.  Glue the wiggle eyes to the pompom eyes.  Cut the snakes tongue from the felt and glue in place.
