Size range: 3″ to 8″ tall

Supplies

FloraCraft® Foam Rod (4″ x 24″)
12″ x 12″ scrapbook paper, three silver glitter on white decorative handmade papers
Six glass votive cups (2″ x 2 1/2″)
Six votive candles, white (or the battery operated votive candles)
Design Master® Color Tool® Spray Color, Raspberry (or bridal color of choice)
Optional: Live or artificial white flowers

Tools:
FloraCraft® Design It:® Foam Cutter
Three 1.4 oz. Elmer’s® CraftBond™ All Purpose glue sticks

• X-ACTO® Products:
– 12″ rotary paper trimmer
– 12″ metal ruler
– 5″ precision tip scissors.

Basic supplies: pencil, teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Use pencil and metal ruler to mark a series of lines on Foam Rod at 1″, 2″, 3″, 4″ 5″ and 6″ intervals. Use Foam Cutter to cut rod into six slices. Set each slice (candle holder) on table to be sure it is level. Carefully trim as needed so that it will be straight.
  2. Place votive cup upside down on top center of 6″ candle holder and carefully press 1/2″ deep into foam. Remove votive cup and use teaspoon to carve out indention. Check fit by setting votive cup, right side up, into indentation. Carve out additional foam as needed to make votive holder. Repeat with all other slices (candle holders). Then, remove votive holders for now.
  3. Use rotary paper trimmer to cut handmade paper into 3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 7″ and 8″ wide strips, each 12″ long. Also cut three ½” x 12″ strips for piecing when indicated.
  4. Apply glue stick around outside of 6″ candle holder. Wrap 8″ wide paper strip around 6″ candle holder, with bottom edges aligned and top of paper extending above candle holder. Use ½” wide paper strip to cover gap at the center back of candle holder. Trim strip even with top of extended paper.
  5. Apply glue stick to top edge and inside indentation of candle holder. Press paper over top edge and into indentation, finger-gathering paper as needed to fit. Use 5″ scissors to trim excess from bottom of indentation. Let dry. Repeat to cover remaining candle holders using strips that are 2” wider than height of candle holders. (Example: Cover 5″ candle holder with 7″ strip; 4″ candle holder with 6″ strip, etc.)
  6. Optional: In a well-ventilated, newspaper covered area, spray candles with two light coats of spray color. Let dry. Place candles into votive cups and place onto candle holders.
  7. Arrange candle holders in circle, straight line or curved-S shape, as desired. Set sprigs of live or artificial flowers in among the holders to decorate.
