Instructions

  1. Use glue gun to connect two Foam Blocks to make one large Block (approx.) 4″ x 4″ x 12″.
  2. Use paper trimmer to cut two 4″ squares from one sheet of coordinating paper. Use generous amount of glue stick to attach squares to ends of large Block.
  3. Measure and horizontally score with stylus every 4″ along one sheet of school house/ bus themed paper (to make crisp folds). (Note: Be sure that motifs will show from front. If not adjust so that they will.) Fold paper and crease. Set paper against Foam Block and trim off one 4″ panel on top of sheet so that Block is covered on front and top only. Use generous amount of glue stick to attach.
  4. Similarly, measure, score, fold and glue coordinating paper to cover Foam Block on back and bottom.
  5. Working on old newspaper, paint one apple with two coats chalkboard paint, according to bottle instructions. (Leave stem unpainted.) Let dry.
  6. On front, spell “STUDENT” using vinyl letters and write “of the week” with opaque paint marker.
  7. Position apples on top of Block, evenly spaced with chalkboard apple in center. Hot glue in place.
  8. Use chalk to write student’s name on chalkboard apple.
